48.rememberthattherulingfacultyisinvincible，whenself-collecteditissatisfiedwithitself，ifitdoesnothingwhichitdoesnotchoosetodo，evenifitresistfrommereobstinacy.whatthenwillitbewhenitformsajudgmentaboutanythingaidedbyreasonanddeliberately？thereforethemindwhichisfreefrompassionsisacitadel，formanhasnothingmoresecuretowhichhecanflyforrefugeandforthefuturebeinexpugnable.hethenwhohasnotseenthisisanignorantman；buthewhohasseenitanddoesnotflytothisrefugeisunhappy.
